Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens

The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is only 30 minutes from Walnut RV Park. It’s a great place to visit with kids, especially with their seasonal exhibits “Boo at the L.A. Zoo” and “L.A. Zoo Lights.”

The gorilla preserve and rainforest of the Americas are some of our favorite areas of the zoo. It’s open year-round and many of the exhibits are outside so plan accordingly. You might need a raincoat or you might need an umbrella for shade if it’s during the summer.

Zoo hours are: Open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving Day and December 25. Note that animals start to go to bed around 4 p.m. so plan ahead :)
